San Lorenzo in Banale

San Lorenzo in Banale is made up of seven hamlets. It’s a real treasure in the heart of Trentino, a jigsaw puzzle of natural and historical beauties that will leave you breathless.

Starting from Prato, you’ll find the “Once upon a time” Park House, located in the historic 16th century Casa Oséi, which preserves the peasant history of these lands and offers you an authentic immersion in the local culture.

Continuing on, you’ll reach Prusa, the lowest hamlet, with its narrow streets and Casa Mazoleti, adorned with an arched loggia and a well-preserved sundial.

Continuing counterclockwise, you’ll reach Glolo, once a servant of Castel Mani, today a witness of the Napoleonic invasions that left only a fragment of this ancient manor.

Following the old cobbled street of Cavada, you’ll reach Berghi, where a 17th century church dedicated to Saint Apollonia houses frescoes by the Baschenis, painters from Bergamo, including notable works such as The Last Supper and the poignant Confession.

Then there’s Pergnano and its church dedicated to Saints Rocco and Sebastian, decorated with frescoes of great chromatic effect, including the Last Supper and the moving Confession.

Senaso, a place of smoking in the old dairy of Turnaria, preserves the artisan tradition of smoking ciuìga, the salami with turnips of humble origins.

The seventh step leads to Dolaso, with the oldest church in the village, dedicated to Saint Anthony the Abbot. A panoramic square offers a breathtaking view of the three peaks of Bondone. We cannot forget Moline and Deggia, where hikers can follow the San Vili path and the Frassati path. In Deggia you can visit the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Caravaggio, a place that touches the soul with its history and spirituality.
