Tour

Egna and Laghetti

Your trip to South Tyrol starts here. Explore the heart of the picturesque town of Egna, with a visit to the ancient porticoes of the market town, dating back to the period between 1300 and 1600. Admire the prison of Andreas Hofer, a Tyrolean folk hero, and visit the museum of 19th and 20th century folk culture in a historic building. Enjoy lunch in a typical restaurant that combines South Tyrolean and Italian cuisine. In the afternoon, explore the town of San Floriano with its Romanesque church. Visit the charming “Klösterle” hospice, founded in 1220, then head to Laghetti, starting point for excursions such as the “Dürer Trail”.
Address: Egna, BZ, Italy. An authentic experience to rediscover the roots and traditions of ancestral lands.

Mazzon

Amidst the vineyards and the majestic natural beauty of the Monte Corno Natural Park, let’s venture to discover the picturesque village of Mazzon, where findings dating back to the 8th century testify to an ancient settlement. This place is famous for its fine red wine, Pinot Noir – Blauburgunder, famous since the 19th century. Every year we dedicate a series of celebrations to this quality wine during the “Pinot Noir Days” (26th edition from 05.10.2024 to 05.13.2024). Mazzon is the starting point of the Pinot Noir Trail, the longest wine route in the region. With various stops, the trail offers breathtaking panoramic views and fascinating interactive stations.
After a delicious lunch, we have the opportunity to explore the evocative ruins of Caldiff Castle, built in 1200 by the Lords of Egna. However, after a devastating fire in 1798, the owners abandoned the castle and it fell into disrepair.
A unique experience that allows tourists to rediscover the roots of their history, immersing themselves in the traditions and beautiful landscapes that characterized the lands of their ancestors.

Villa and Laives

Your trip to South Tyrol continues in Villa: spend your morning immersed in a visit to the picturesque village and the majestic Church of Our Lady of Villa, a jewel of late Gothic architecture in Tyrol. This is a place that values tradition and culture, as evidenced by the annual “Villner Kirschtag” festival on June 29th.
After a delicious lunch, treat yourself to a pleasant adventure by renting a bicycle and following the easy and peaceful route along the Adige River. You will arrive in Laives, where on June 14 and 15 the Köfele Festival will take place with the participation of Rudy Giovannini, a famous singer of modern and folk music in German. Known as the “Caruso of the mountains”, he has won the Grand Prix of Folk Music and performs throughout Europe, delighting his fans with a repertoire that ranges from famous musical melodies to pop and folk music.
This experience offers Roots Travelers the opportunity to rediscover the roots of their history, immersing themselves in the traditions and celebrations that marked the lands of their ancestors. A journey that combines the beauty of the places with the vital energy of the local festivities.
