The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is one of the most cherished events in the village of Roncegno Terme. It features a rich program that brings together the local community, visitors from the surrounding valley, and tourists exploring Valsugana in June. Below are the key activities of this patronal festival.
The Program of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul in Roncegno Terme
At the heart of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is conviviality—bringing people together to enjoy each other’s company. Central to the event is the gastronomic offering, with a simple yet delightful menu. It includes both traditional Trentino dishes and popular street food options like polenta, fried treats, and sandwiches, all prepared by the volunteer firefighters of Roncegno.
The food service is complemented by various entertainment activities. These include fire brigade demonstrations, children’s activities introducing them to the world of firefighting, and games for all ages, such as a lottery.
Each evening, the festival is brought to life with music. Performances cater to diverse tastes, featuring traditional music with vocal and accordion groups for ballroom dancing, as well as DJ sets for younger audiences.
Of course, the celebration includes a Holy Mass, held on June 29 in the parish church of Saints Peter and Paul, which overlooks the center of Roncegno Terme. It is worth noting that until 1976, the feast day of Saints Peter and Paul was a national holiday in Italy.
Proceeds from the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul are used to support the volunteer firefighters’ activities.
