Why not spend Ferragosto in Romeno? On August 15, this charming village in the Val di Non celebrates its patronal feast with traditional customs, music, and local gastronomy. Below are the details of the Sagra dell’Assunta in Romeno, an event held annually.

The program of the Ferragosto in Romeno

Maria S.S. Assunta is the patron saint of Romeno, and every August 15, the town celebrates her feast. How is Ferragosto in Romeno celebrated ? The day begins with the religious ceremony at the heart of the event: the Holy Mass held in the parish church, Santa Maria Assunta, dedicated to the patron saint.

Following the Mass, as tradition dictates, a procession winds through the streets of this Trentino village, accompanied by the rhythmic sounds of the Romeno Band Corps. This band, a point of local pride, has been active for over 120 years. In 2025, it will mark 123 years since its founding, with members boasting decades of performances.

After the Mass and procession, the Ferragosto in Romeno festivities truly kick off. Piazza Lampi becomes the focal point of the celebration, where a local culinary tradition is upheld. The Pro Loco of Romeno prepares and serves typical dishes of the region starting at noon.

The afternoon continues in Piazza Lampi with the traditional “Grand Ferragosto Tombola.” Many Trentino towns celebrate August 15 with similar lotteries, offering a variety of prizes for participants.

To conclude the day in style, the Romeno Band Corps, led by Maestro Lorenzo Zucal, will perform again at 9:00 PM in a pavilion set up in the square.
